Happy 100th, MH!

12.11.1912, Mr. Hunt's birthday.  Do you recall my post from a couple years back?  If not, read it for the full story about MH.  Saturday we celebrated MH's 100th birthday with a reunion of "the gang."  We gathered together from as far as Florida and talked about the man that brought us all together.  We wrote poems about MH, and told stories, and caught up on our lives since he died in 2003.  And we watched the video that one of our "gang members," actually more like the gang leader, made as a thesis project.  The film is called "This Whole Gang" and it features interviews and clips with MH.  To hear his voice again was wild.  I hear it my head all the time, but to hear it as it really sounded and to see his facial expressions was just wild.  It was emotional, but not depressing.  It was more like, this is what it looks like when you make a profound impact on people.  This is what people look like when they've been supported and encouraged by someone.  It was amazing.  Here's to you, MH, Happy 100th!

I reread your original post and got a little teary. It certainly describes a two- way street of giving. Who knew that your moving into that old apartment house would have such an impact on life?
